Start here: what Dory is, how it knows when you are leaving or coming home, how it tells household members apart, and which reminders it can give you.
Dory is a smart key tray that sits by your front door. When you pick up your keys, it reminds you of everything you need before you leave: gym bag, umbrella, medication, a gift, anything that matters that day.
Dory recognizes two simple gestures: when you pick up your keys from the tray, you're leaving; when you place them back, you're coming home. Both moments can trigger reminders, voice messages or smart home automations. No buttons, no tapping, no voice commands, just the gestures you already do every day.
Dory works with two types of reminders: Digital memos and Smart memos. Digital memos are reminders you (or someone in your household) set manually through the app, delivered to the right person the moment they pick up their keys. Smart memos are generated automatically by Dory's predictive model, which combines what you tell Dory at onboarding with the services you connect (calendar, weather, traffic). The more context you give, the more useful they get. You choose how each reminder is delivered: voice, app notification, or both, adjustable per person and per reminder type.
Each set of keys is linked to a specific household member during setup. When that set is lifted, Dory recognizes it and delivers only that person's reminders.
Keys are the default because almost everyone picks them up before leaving. If someone in your home doesn't carry keys, they can link another small everyday object to their profile and use it as their personal trigger.
Yes, there is no battery model yet, so Dory needs to stay plugged in to work.
